Stark and stunning in detail, Melissa B. Tubbs shows a firm grasp on the barrel of her pen. She is based in Alabama and specializes in light on architectural forms. Several of her pieces are shown on her blog. Her work is so lovely, it will take your breath away.

I love this creative take on the alphabet from illustrator Paul Thurby. The cards I have lining my daughter’s room are nowhere near as funky as these. The colors are soft and appealing to go with the fun images. Taken from Paul’s site:

Originally from Nottingham, UK based
Paul has been a full-time illustrator since
September 2006 after graduating from
University in Buckinghamshire.

Paul holds his pen in a funny way, but it
works just fine for him. He has built up
an impressive list of commissions including
regular contributions to The Guardian since
May 2007.
