Attention to Design: The Font

In Computer Art, Uncategorized on May 8, 2010 at 7:08 pm

Fonts and design have been on my mind lately, as I have been helping boost aesthetics on a blog redesign. So this great piece over at ColorLovers is quite timely. What sets these pages apart? It’s all in the use of creative fonts, rather than the standard, boring old typefaces. Hit the link above to see more beautiful typographically-correct examples, and check out the links over a ColorLovers for even more great design.

Dancing Across Borders

In Performing Art on March 18, 2010 at 1:03 am

Dancing Across Borders is a film opening next week at the Quad Cinema. It features Sokvannara Sar, a Cambodian boy discovered in Angkor Wat and flown to the School of American Ballet. This movie follows his amazing story to its culmination with the Pacific Northwest Ballet. He had no ballet training prior to his move to New York. Learning English and dance at the same time – no small feat!

Although it might be a tough film to pin down, I expect it will be well worth the effort. Hat tip to Dancing Perfectly Free.
