Tattoos are worn for many reasons, but few are as symb0lic or as dangerous as the tattoos worn by Russian prisoners. CoolHunting blog reports of an exhibit in London called Russian Prisoner Tattoos, which features stark black and white photos of the meaning-laden, even beautiful designs. The photos are offset by drawings of the tattoo designs, all taken or made by two prison wardens. The history and meaning of the inks are as frightening and savage as they are fascinating. The exhibit runs October 29, 2010 to November 28, 2010.

In DNA, A (adenine) pairs with T (thymine) and G (guanine) pairs with C (cytosine). In RNA, G pairs with C and A pairs with U (uracil). Choose A-T, G-C or A-U in sterling silver on a 16 inch chain.
